Why choose Invisalign?
Invisalign braces are a popular choice for teens, but they are also growing in popularity with adults of all ages. There is no age limit for teeth straightening treatments; all we ask is that you have good oral hygiene and are free from issues such as periodontal disease.
At any age, straightening your teeth can be life changing. We help to transform smiles with practical and effective orthodontic treatments, including invisible aligners. Straighter teeth are also easier to clean than crooked ones and gums fit more tightly around straight teeth. And of course, patients are always pleased with the confidence boost that comes with straight teeth and a beautiful smile.
Orthodontic treatment is a big step, and we want you to feel empowered to choose the right aligner for your lifestyle. We will explain the Invisalign treatment process in detail, so you can make a choice between traditional fixed braces with wires and brackets, or a clear and removable aligner such as Invisalign.
The Invisalign Treatment Process
Step 1 – Our Invisalign consultant will take you through the Case Assessment, which is a simple set of photos to determine whether you are suitable for Invisalign treatment. We use computer imaging to get the most accurate impression.
Step 2 – If this treatment is right for you, we’ll take photos, X-rays and digital scans, or a dental impression, of your teeth. Then we’ll create you a digital treatment plan, using our state of the art technology, showing you what your results could look like via a 3D video. At this stage, you may be offered other treatments if Invisalign isn’t the right choice for your needs.
Step 3 – We’ll give you a series of aligners to wear every day and change at home – on average every 1-2 weeks (as directed by your Dentist). You can comfortably wear your aligners for 22 hours a day (the recommended daily wear). And because they’re removable, it’s easy to maintain your normal oral hygiene routine and enjoy your usual diet.
Step 4 – We’ll invite you back to the practice every 4-6 weeks to monitor progress and give you your next set of aligners. At the end of your treatment, you will need to wear your retainers to maintain your new smile.

Invisalign aligners can treat most alignment problems, including gaps, crowding, overbite, open bite, cross bite, overjet and more. We can use attachments and precision wings to gain more control over the teeth and move them into the desired position.
Yes, one of the advantages of Invisalign is that the aligners are removable. You can either continue wearing your aligners during sport with a specialist mouthguard fitted over the top, or you can remove them during sport. Remember that aligners need to be worn for at least 22 hours per day for treatment to be effective.
No, since you will remove your aligners to eat a drink. No foods are off limits, you just need to remember to rinse your mouth and aligners before replacing them after a meal. While wearing your aligners, you should only drink water.
Yes, we recommend Vivera retainers to help maintain the results. If you don’t wear a retainer, your teeth will gradually shift back into the previous position.
This will depend on where you are in your treatment schedule. If you are close to moving to the next aligner, you may need to move forward to the next set. If you have only recently changed aligners, you may need to use your old aligner until we can order a replacement. If you lose an aligner, always call your dentist for advice and support.
Since the aligner is custom made for your mouth and precision cut to your gum line, the aligners should be very comfortable. You may have an adjustment period as you get used to wearing the aligners. Many patients report they don’t notice their aligners after a few weeks of wear. Since Invisalign aligners are removable, many patients also report they are more comfortable to wear than braces with fixed wires and brackets.
