If you are in pain, it’s an emergency. Toothache won’t go away without help from a dentist, so it’s best to book an appointment to discover the source of your pain. A dental emergency would include dental pain; swelling in your cheek, gum or neck; bleeding following dental treatment; a chipped, cracked or knocked out tooth; trauma to the face and issues with dental implants.
The aim of an emergency dental appointment is to diagnose the problem, manage your pain, and make sure it doesn’t get worse. This could include an Xray to understand what is happening, simple repairs to help avoid further discomfort, and scheduling a follow-up appointment to complete the treatment.
Absolutely! We know that some patients avoid visiting the dentist, and this can make dental problems worse. If you’re nervous about your visit, don’t worry. Our friendly team will put you at ease and help make it easy to get the dental care you need.
If you’re in pain at night or have another dental emergency that can’t wait until the morning, call 111. This non-emergency helpline will direct you to an out-of-hours dentist if you need it. If you call our practice in the night, our answerphone message will give you instructions on what to do.
